Designed to equip aspiring comedians with the tools to navigate the professional side of comedy.

Participants will learn the essentials of the standup business, including:

  • Comedians as 5-Tool Players
  • Comedy as a Business: Art vs Money
  • Simplified guide to becoming a working comedian
  • Step-by-step guide to securing bookings in a competitive industry
  • Roles of agents vs managers
  • Strategies to build a loyal following in the standup scene
  • Realities of making a living from comedy, including the ups and downs
  • Tips for managing nerves and staying focused
  • Pro codes for comedy business success
  • Actionable homework to help kickstart your career

This class is one (1) three hour session on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 7PM.

In person at the Dallas Comedy Club located at 3036 Elm St, Dallas, TX 75226 in the Historic Deep Ellum neighborhood.

The instructor is veteran comedian turned author Mike Lukas (NBC, Comedy Central, CBS Radio, The Second City, iO).

The cost is $50. Must be 18 years or older to enroll and participate.
