Crackin’ Up w/ G&L: A Lady's Night-er
When my wife Gretchen and I lived in Los Angeles, we were hired by CBS Radio to do a comedy show on Friday’s from 11:00 pm until 1:00 am, a time slot we dubbed: Fraturday Night.
Crackin’ Up with Gretchen and the Lukes made the weird news come alive thanks to our standup and improvisation friends who played various characters in actual news stories.
In this piece, the story involves a night club that was going to shut down its Lady’s Night thanks to pressure from a group that calls such promotions ‘sexist,’ a move that has negatively affected the life of Tammy, a full time Lady’s Night-er.
Tammy is played by actress Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm). She and I had previously worked together at Universal Studios when I hosted the Alfred Hitchcock show and she wore a flesh colored body suit as Janet Leigh in Psycho getting stabbed in shower.
